EBMT ED is the educational arm of EBMT; it aims to contribute to the fostering of excellence and informing on developments that are part of the mission of the society as a whole. 

EBMT ED offers a range of courses, events, online tools and collaboration opportunities to EBMT members and other actors interested in Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and associated fields. It also produces the renowned EBMT Handbook on Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in collaboration with the European School of Haematology (ESH).

EBMT ED is coordinated by the EBMT Education Committee, which was founded in 1995 with the initial tasks of coordinating the production of the EBMT Handbook and an Annual Training Course on BMT, both in conjunction with ESH. The remit of the committee has since widened to include a strategic overview of the organisation’s educational output as a whole, both in terms of on-site events and online educational content.
