The 16th edition of the ESH-EBMT Training Course on Blood and Marrow Transplantation   

In 2012 this flagship course again reverts to Eastern Europe. EBMT and ESH are very pleased to announce that Sofia, Bulgaria, will be the next host city for the event, which will be blessed with the enthusiastic local organisation of Dr. Dobrin Konstantinov of the city’s Specialized Children’s Oncohematology Hospital (SCOH).

The venue will be the well-equipped Park Hotel Moskva, with views over the lovely Borisova Gradina Park and an extremely convenient location for Sofia’s International Airport – which is well served from major European cities. The dates for what promises to be another successful edition of the course are 22th – 25th April 2012.

Review of the 15th ESH-EBMT Training Course

The last edition of the joint ESH-EBMT Training Course took place from 8th – 11th May 2011 in La Baule, France. The local organisers, Jean-Luc Harousseau and Mohamad Mohty, did a superb job of facilitating the course. As is becoming habitual, an extremely international feel prevailed with participants from Algeria, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Singapore in attendance in addition to a wide ranging European contingent.

 As always, the ‘Meet the experts’ sessions proved extremely popular and generated a positive ambience that infected the rest of the programme. An enjoyable and engaging time was had by all in a lovely setting on France’s Atlantic Coast.”
